Newsmakers Gary L. Bishop was named vice president for development of the Fort Worth-based World Bible Translation Center, effective March 2004. Bishop has served as president and CEO of Mission Aviation Fellowship for the last six years.

Orville H. (Ted) Fletcher(71), founder and president emeritus of the Orlando-based faith mission Pioneers, died on November 19 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. After a long and successful sales career, in the late 1970s, Fletcher started Pioneers to raise up workers for the least-reached peoples of the world. Today Pioneers has more than 500 workers from the United States, and an equal number of international members, serving in 50 countries.

Don Parrott has been named as president and CEO of Parclete, based in Mesa, Ariz., and formerly known as Parclete Mission Group. Parrott served as director of mobilization for OC International.
