newsmakers Bethany Fellowship International in Bloomington, Minn., has changed its name to Bethany International. Since its inception in 1945, Bethany International has trained more than 700 cross-cultural missionaries and launched 30 training schools worldwide.
Christian Solidarity International, USA (CSI-USA) appointed Daniel Eibner as vice president of development. Eibner brings 21 years of experience in marketing and wealth management and will be responsible for stimulating financial growth, while creating broader media awareness of CSI’s mission.
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship appointed Jim Tebbe as vice president/director of missions. InterVarsity is an interdenominational ministry to university students in the US with more than 35,000 students involved on 565 campuses. Previously, Tebbe was the international director of Interserve, an international, interdenominational fellowship ministering throughout South and Central Asia and the Middle East.
Carol Richardson, wife of Don Richardson, author of Peace Child, died March 4, at age 67 after battling cancer for 17 months. The Richardsons lived in Irian Jaya, Indonesia, with the Stone Age cannibal head-hunting Sawi tribe for 15 years. During that time half of the Sawi tribe became Christians after learning how Jesus was their “peace child.” The Richardsons’ son, Steven, is president of Pioneers.
