newsmakers Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies (EFMA) has announced that President and CEO Paul McKaughan will step down from his leadership position at the conclusion of his current term on December 31, 2005. The board expressed its appreciation for McKaughan’s 14 years of service. EFMA represents approximately 100 member agencies that place some 20,000 missionaries worldwide.

Warren J. Janzen was elected general director of SEND. His term will begin July 1. He replaces Frank M. Severn who will continue to serve as general director emeritus for special projects. Janzen and his wife, Dorothy, have served with SEND in Japan since 1988. SEND has 550 members in 22 countries in Asia, Eurasia, Europe and North America.

David C. Pollock, executive director of Interaction International, died on April 11 in Vienna, Austria, following a heart attack in early April and an ongoing coma. He is survived by wife Betty Lou and children Dan, Mike and Michelle.

Bill V. Tarter has been named executive director of North American Indian Ministries (NAIM). NAIM is dedicated to church planting among Native North American peoples in western Canada, Washington state and New Mexico.
